Terms of use
The terms for buying and using dNotch, in plain language.
Who we are
dNotch is made by Juozas Zobernis, a sole trader (individuali veikla) in Lithuania. You can reach us at support@dnotch.app. In these terms, “we” means Juozas Zobernis, and “you” means the person or business using dNotch.
Buying dNotch
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
- Paddle's Buyer Terms apply to the purchase itself: payment, taxes, receipts and invoices. These terms cover your license to use dNotch.
- Prices are shown on dnotch.app. In the EU, the UK and most other countries they include VAT; in the US and Canada, sales tax is added at checkout.
Your license
Buying dNotch gives you a personal license to use it. Which one depends on the plan:
- dNotch (one-time purchase): use dNotch on one Mac, for as long as you like. It includes every version released in the 12 months after your purchase; the version you have keeps working after that.
- dNotch Pro (subscription): use dNotch on 2 Macs, including every new version, for as long as your subscription is active. Pro is billed monthly or yearly and renews automatically until you cancel.
- Free trial: you can try every feature free for 14 days, without a card. After that, dNotch asks for a license.
To move dNotch to a new Mac, remove the old one in your account or in the app, then activate the new one.
Subscriptions and cancelling
- You can cancel Pro at any time from the link in your receipt email, or by writing to us.
- When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the month or year you've already paid for, and nothing more is charged. After that, dNotch needs a license again.
- If we ever change the price of Pro, we'll tell you by email before your next renewal, and you can cancel before it applies.
Refunds
Every payment comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. See the refund policy for how it works. If you're a consumer in the EU, this goes further than your 14-day right of withdrawal: you keep the full 30 days even after downloading and activating dNotch.
What you may not do
- Share your license key publicly, or sell, rent or transfer your license to someone else.
- Get around the license checks or Mac limits, or help others do so.
- Copy, modify or redistribute dNotch, except as the law expressly allows.
If a license is misused, we may deactivate it. We'll contact you first where we can.
Other services
Some features work with other services when you turn them on: for example, weather from Open-Meteo, and usage limits from Claude, Codex or Cursor if you connect them. Those services have their own terms. dNotch isn't affiliated with Apple, Anthropic, OpenAI, Cursor or Spotify, and their names are used only to describe what dNotch works with.
Updates and availability
We work to keep dNotch working well on current versions of macOS, but macOS updates can change how the menu bar and notch behave. If something stops working, we'll try to fix it quickly, and you can always ask for a refund within the refund period. Some features rely on outside services and may change if those services do.
Liability
dNotch is provided with reasonable care, but we can't promise it will be free of errors. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for dNotch in the 12 months before the problem. None of this limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, or our liability for anything that can't be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when we add features or plans. We'll change the date below, and if a change matters to existing customers, we'll tell you by email first. The terms that applied when you bought still apply to that purchase.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of Lithuania. If you're a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please write to us first at support@dnotch.app: we'd much rather fix it.
